Firefox extension

Install the Firefox Add-ons extension and send pages or links back to BrowserFairy.

The Firefox extension lets you send the page you are viewing, or a specific link on that page, back to BrowserFairy. Use it for links that start inside Firefox, where normal default-browser routing cannot intercept the click.

Install from Firefox Add-ons

  1. Open the BrowserFairy listing on Firefox Add-ons.
  2. Click Add to Firefox.
  3. Confirm in the dialog Firefox shows.

Pin the toolbar button

After installing, the BrowserFairy button may be inside Firefox's extensions menu. Pin it to the toolbar so sending the current page is one click away.

Send the current page

Open the page you want to route, then click the BrowserFairy toolbar button. Firefox sends the page address to the BrowserFairy app, and BrowserFairy opens the Browser Launcher so you can choose where it should open.

Right-click a link on any page and choose Open with BrowserFairy. The extension sends that link to BrowserFairy without opening it in Firefox first.

After Firefox sends a page or link, BrowserFairy opens the Browser Launcher so you can pick a browser or profile.

Firefox on a cold start

The first time you open a brand-new Firefox window when Firefox is not already running can take a few seconds. After Firefox is open, links route to it right away.

If nothing happens

Make sure BrowserFairy is installed and running on the same Mac. The app's icon should be visible in the menu bar. For the full checklist, see Troubleshooting.
