BrowserFairy v2.1 out now!
- New BrowserSelector
- Better support for Chromium browsers
- New browser extension for Microsoft Edge
A couple of days ago we introduced a new idea about a new approch for the BrowserSelector. We made progress real quick, tweaked a litte more and we’re pretty confident that we now have a solution you’ll love as much as we do!
With the new BrowserSelector mouse travel is reduced to an absolute minimum, browsers can be selected via keyboard shortcuts or the keyboard’s up/down keys. The design is really slick and all in all we think this makes for a much better experience.
We know there are a lot of Chromium browsers out there and there’s good use for them for sure. It was always possible to use the browser extension from the Chrome Store with a Chromium browser. There was one issue though: When Chrome wasn’t installed at the same time there was always an anoying warning dialog coming up when using the extension. It took some time but we finally figured out how to deal with this situation. With the latest version of BrowserFairy this behavior is history and all Chromium browser will work just as fine as the famous brother.
Last but not least we released a first class browser extension for Microsoft Edge. Especially new BrowserFairy users often find it difficult to switch to the Chrome Store to find the extension. This will make it much easier to hook up Edge with the BrowserFairy goodness.
